Featured in the Courier-Mail's 2026 Sunshine Coast Power List

I recently received the news that I have been named in the Sunshine Coast’s Power List by The Courier-Mail. Being included as a "mogul" and "powerbroker" in our home region is a significant milestone for the business. It is a moment to reflect on how far we have come since our humble beginnings.

What started as a way to manage my own schedule has grown into something much larger. This recognition is a testament to our focus on digital innovation and the professional community we have built.

A Side Hustle with a Global Vision

In 2012, I was a busy single mum looking for a flexible way to earn an income. The Laundry Lady began as a simple side hustle to help others reclaim their time. I noticed that people were constantly searching for a reliable washing service, but the existing options lacked modern convenience.

I focused on building a brand that solved a practical problem. What began with one person and a domestic washing machine is now an international brand. We currently have over 450 Laundry Partners across Australia, New Zealand and Canada. In 2024, we reached $6 million in revenue, proving that a bootstrapped startup can achieve serious scale through consistent effort and a clear business model.

Driving Innovation in the Laundry Industry

While laundry and ironing are traditional tasks, our approach is strictly modern. We have moved away from manual processes to become a tech-driven solution.

Last year, we showcased our B2B SaaS platform, TimeBoss, at SXSW Sydney. We won the Innovation in Retail and Commerce category because we are using software to streamline service industries. This technology allows our partners to manage their own washing and ironing businesses with high efficiency.

The Strength of the "Pink" Community

We "think pink" in our branding to represent our commitment to empowerment and flexible work. Our team consists of parents, career changers, and couples who want to run their own business from home. They provide the high-quality washing service that local businesses, from medical centres to beauty salons, rely on every day.

Rooted in the Sunshine Coast

The Sunshine Coast is our home base. To be listed alongside local politicians, athletes, and business leaders is an honour. It reinforces my passion for supporting others in the business community. We aren't just processing clothes; we are giving our clients back 3 to 5 hours of their week to focus on what matters to them.

I want to thank The Courier-Mail for the recognition and congratulate the other local figures on the list. To our customers and Laundry Partners: thank you for being part of this journey. We have plenty more work to do.
